Overview

Cerqo is a peer-to-peer messaging application that works entirely without internet. Your privacy is fundamental to our design — we cannot collect your messages because there are no servers involved.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit your messages to any server
• We do not collect your contacts, location, or browsing data
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that identify you
• We do not share any data with third parties

How Cerqo Works

Cerqo uses Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework to send messages directly between devices using WiFi and Bluetooth. Messages travel peer-to-peer and are never routed through any server. All messages are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Display name — the name you choose during setup, visible to nearby devices
• Messages — text, photos, voice messages, and files are stored locally on your device
• App preferences — settings like your display name, onboarding status, and local feature preferences

All data remains on your device and is never uploaded to any server. Deleting the app removes all stored data.

Encryption

All peer-to-peer connections use required encryption provided by Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework.

Permissions

• Local Network — required to discover and communicate with nearby devices
• Bluetooth — used for device discovery and messaging when WiFi is unavailable
